Again, I do want to stress this website blocking method can be easily bypassed by a tech savvy teen. Nothing a parent can do will beat a 3rd party software utility designed to block and monitor websites. That being said, if your kids are younger you should be ok with this blocking method.
Type in; C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc it should look like the run box above. When done click on OK
After clicking ok you will either see icons or text as shown above and to the left. You only need worry about the host file.
Scroll down and double click notepad
A dialogue box like the one below will open.
Notepad will open the host file and you should see a dialogue box very similar to the one below.
Type in 127.0.0.1 hit the tab key and type in www.myspace.com your entry should look like the one below. *Note, you may already have entries similar to this. That's ok, just make this the last entry.
127.0.0.1 myspace.com
127.0.0.1 myspace
Select file,save and then exit. Your done!. Close all your open windows and try to browse myspace. You should not be able to. If you can still get to myspace go ahead and re-boot then try.
Yes, you can repeat this process to block face book, teenspot or any other website you want to block. Just keep using the same 127.0.0.1 and changing the web address.
